Jon Dibben - bespoke jeweller

Jon Dibben

Jon finds his inspiration predominantly in organic forms: nature’s perfect blend of beauty and function. His designs echo this philosophy with equal amounts of meticulous thought given to both visual harmony and effortless wearability. His love of beautiful and unusual stones is also central to his design process, resulting in striking one-off dress rings and necklaces. His painstaking attention to detail is also applied to the handcrafting, in limited numbers, of his designs. All work, including stone setting, is carried out in his own workshop, alongside his shop, a converted brick kilns near Guildford, in rural Surrey. This emphasis on integrity has led him to work increasingly with ethically sourced stones, and, in 2011, he was selected as one of the first 20 jewellery designers in the UK licensed to use Fairtrade and Fairmined gold and platinum. Jon’s designs retain all the traditional qualities of fine jewellery whilst at the same time using responsibly sourced materials where ever possible. His first design using Fairtrade and Fairmined gold was recognised by the British Jewellers’ Association as a landmark design of the past 125 years within the industry, and was selected for their Anniversary Exhibition in 2012. Jon has since been awarded Best Bespoke Ethical Jeweller by Sublime magazine and the Blue Butterfly Trust Mark by on-line magazine Positive Luxury. For two consecutive years, he has been peer voted as a Top 50 Inspiring Independent in the UK by the trade’s Retail Jeweller magazine, and by Professional Jeweller magazine as a Trend Setter in their Hot 100. Jon’s designs are available exclusively from his shop, by appointment in central London and at exhibitions such as Goldsmiths’ Fair.
